Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Telefonica (BME:TEF), which rose 2.47% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) added 2.14% or 0.72 points to end at 34.39 and Repsol (BME:REP) was up 1.70% or 0.17 points to 10.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which fell 1.23% or 0.10 points to trade at 8.21 at the close. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) declined 0.88% or 0.44 points to end at 49.50 and Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb) was down 0.87% or 0.13 points to 14.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 107 to 77 and 26 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.19% or 103.41 to $3,343.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.73% or 1.06 to hit $62.39 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.65% or 1.07 to trade at $65.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.76% at 99.20.
