Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.36%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ENCE (MC:ENC), which rose 6.79% or 0.395 points to trade at 6.210 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) added 3.48% or 2.080 points to end at 61.820 and Naturgy Energy Group SA (MC:NTGY) was up 1.67% or 0.380 points to 23.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which fell 2.77% or 0.166 points to trade at 5.822 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) declined 1.85% or 0.126 points to end at 6.674 and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:SGREN) was down 1.66% or 0.190 points to 11.250.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 112 to 62 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.27% or 3.55 to $1287.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.59% or 1.31 to hit $51.82 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 1.20 to trade at $60.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.74% to 1.1389, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.64% at 95.820.
