Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were BBVA (MC:BBVA), which rose 2.97% or 0.181 points to trade at 6.267 at the close. Meanwhile, B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 2.39% or 0.031 points to end at 1.329 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) was up 2.24% or 0.113 points to 5.163 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which fell 0.96% or 0.13 points to trade at 13.45 at the close. Enagas (MC:ENAG) declined 0.89% or 0.205 points to end at 22.960 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was down 0.61% or 0.035 points to 5.679.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 106 to 57 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.22% or 2.65 to $1212.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.31% or 0.69 to hit $53.44 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.43 to trade at $55.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.0758, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8585.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 100.03.
