Investing.com – Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Energy & Utilities and Petrochemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All Share declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were BURUJ COOPERATIVE INSURANCE CO (SE:8270), which rose 9.39% or 2.30 points to trade at 26.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Arabian Shield Coop Insurance Co (SE:8070) added 8.81% or 4.35 points to end at 53.75 and Salama Cooperative Insurance Co (SE:8050) was up 6.42% or 0.85 points to 14.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saudi Arabian Amiantit Co. (SE:2160), which fell 9.62% or 0.75 points to trade at 7.05 at the close. Middle East Healthcare Co (SE:4009) declined 8.36% or 6.25 points to end at 68.50 and Fawaz Abdulaziz AlHokair Company (SE:4240) was down 4.69% or 1.50 points to 30.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 109 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arabian Shield Coop Insurance Co (SE:8070) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.81% or 4.35 to 53.75.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 1.70% or 0.89 to $51.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.60% or 0.89 to hit $54.58 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.15 to trade at $1211.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/SAR was down 0.46% to 3.9988, while USD/SAR rose 0.03% to 3.7514.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.58% at 100.84.
