Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX fell 1.34%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 1.77% or 3.30 points to trade at 189.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 1.48% or 11.50 points to end at 786.50 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 1.30% or 3.50 points to 272.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG), which fell 4.94% or 0.1165 points to trade at 2.2440 at the close. Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) declined 3.91% or 5.17 points to end at 126.90 and Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) was down 3.83% or 0.0348 points to 0.8730.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 139 to 74 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) rose to all time highs; up 1.30% or 3.50 to 272.80.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.75% to 24.180.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.44% or 5.57 to $1253.13 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.84% or 0.41 to hit $49.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.42 to trade at $52.63 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.86% to 57.5888, while EUR/RUB rose 1.12% to 64.040.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.51.
