The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Surgutneftegas PJSC (MCX:SNGS), which rose 1.00% or 0.23 points to trade at 23.18 at the close. Meanwhile, TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 0.93% or 6.10 points to end at 661.60 and NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:NVTK) was up 0.84% or 9.80 points to 1,169.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ROSSETI PJSC (MCX:FEES), which unchanged 0.41% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Polyus PJSC (MCX:PLZL) declined 0.19% or 3.40 points to end at 1,745.40 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM) was down 0.19% or 0.11 points to 57.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 59 to 38 and 3 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was unchanged 0.00% to 38.08 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.15% or 38.00 to $3,344.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.85% or 1.11 to hit $61.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.70% or 1.07 to trade at $63.91 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.11% to 82.50, while EUR/RUB rose 0.29% to 92.80.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 100.17.
