Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Unipro PJSC (MCX:UPRO), which unchanged 0.12% or 0.00 points to trade at 1.73 at the close. Meanwhile, NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:NVTK) added 0.05% or 0.60 points to end at 1,115.60 and GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM), which fell 5.82% or 3.45 points to trade at 55.79 at the close. AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.92% or 0.45 points to end at 14.90 and Novolipetsk Steel (MCX:NLMK) was down 2.75% or 3.72 points to 131.34.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 177 to 70 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.35% to 60.31.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.56% or 18.18 to $3,226.42 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.16% or 0.10 to hit $61.60 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.12 to trade at $64.88 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.20% to 82.24, while EUR/RUB fell 1.24% to 93.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 99.44.
