Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which rose 3.14% or 30.5 points to trade at 1001.5 at the close. Meanwhile, MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG) added 2.42% or 0.0595 points to end at 2.5145 and Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) was up 2.01% or 26.00 points to 1317.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which fell 2.38% or 0.1010 points to trade at 4.1500 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 2.17% or 3.18 points to end at 143.13 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was down 1.89% or 2.50 points to 130.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 136 to 72 and 20 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 2.19% to 25.030.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.84% or 9.80 to $1183.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.13% or 1.69 to hit $52.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 3.06% or 1.75 to trade at $55.35 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.56% to 59.9407, while EUR/RUB rose 0.80% to 63.332.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 101.95.
