Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.48%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 6.06% or 9.02 points to trade at 157.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 2.81% or 11.20 points to end at 410.00 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 2.62% or 0.870 points to 34.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG), which fell 6.88% or 0.1580 points to trade at 2.1400 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 2.58% or 4.97 points to end at 187.81 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) was down 2.13% or 0.570 points to 26.130.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 101 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) rose to all time highs; rising 6.06% or 9.02 to 157.84.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 0.09% to 23.520.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.87% or 9.95 to $1132.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.26% or 0.14 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.28 to trade at $55.20 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.71% to 61.4900, while EUR/RUB fell 0.77% to 63.903.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 103.24.
