Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index added 3.08%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which rose 4.47% or 19.90 points to trade at 464.60 at the close. Meanwhile, NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:NVTK) added 4.47% or 48.20 points to end at 1,126.00 and IPJSC YANDEX (MCX:YDEX) was up 3.95% or 152.50 points to 4,012.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM), which fell 1.18% or 0.09 points to trade at 7.10 at the close. Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX:SNGS_p) declined 0.17% or 0.09 points to end at 51.51 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM) was down 0.16% or 0.09 points to 55.28.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 217 to 32 and 6 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.79% to 48.40.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 3.59% or 119.25 to $3,441.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.33% or 1.90 to hit $59.03 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $62.05 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 81.50, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 92.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 99.07.
