Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Telecoms and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index gained 0.93%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were VK Company Ltd (MCX:VKCO), which rose 7.60% or 19.40 points to trade at 274.70 at the close. Meanwhile, PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK) added 6.62% or 29.80 points to end at 479.80 and Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX:MAGN) was up 6.04% or 2.02 points to 35.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which fell 0.53% or 7.00 points to trade at 1,309.00 at the close. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX:TATN) declined 0.44% or 3.10 points to end at 703.50 and Mobil’nye Telesistemy PJSC (MCX:MTSS) was down 0.23% or 0.50 points to 216.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 183 to 59 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.53% to 52.64.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.97% or 33.30 to $3,392.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.81% or 1.13 to hit $63.54 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.71% or 1.13 to trade at $67.39 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 81.60, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 98.75.
