Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX:PIKK), which rose 7.19% or 33.90 points to trade at 505.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX:MOEX) added 2.22% or 4.56 points to end at 209.57 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:RTKM) was up 2.04% or 1.22 points to 60.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM), which fell 1.49% or 0.12 points to trade at 7.94 at the close. LUKOIL PJSC (MCX:LKOH) declined 0.87% or 59.00 points to end at 6,684.00 and AK ALROSA PJSC (MCX:ALRS) was down 0.81% or 0.41 points to 50.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 132 to 113 and 10 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.75% to 54.24.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.04% or 67.20 to $3,361.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.84% or 0.52 to hit $62.79 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $66.53 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 83.13, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.57% at 99.07.
