Investing.com -- On Tuesday, retail stock trading platform Robinhood Markets Inc (NASDAQ:HOOD) added four popular cryptocurrencies, taking its total to 11.
The broker now offers popular cryptocurrencies Solana, Shiba Inu, Polygon, and Compound.
The news saw Shiba Inu surge around 25%, while the other cryptos also made strong moves higher.
Shiba Inu is classed as the second “memecoin” added to Robinhood, after Dogecoin.
“We’re excited to add more choices for our customers as we work to make Robinhood the best place to invest in crypto,” stated Steve Quirk, Chief Brokerage Officer at Robinhood, in a post on the company's blog.
“As a safety-first company, we have a rigorous framework in place to help us evaluate assets for listing, and we remain committed to providing a safe and educational crypto platform," he added.
Last week Robinhood said it had activated its crypto wallet for two million “eligible” customers.
