Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.50%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 1.78% or 0.0930 points to trade at 5.3200 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 0.70% or 0.100 points to end at 14.400 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.52% or 0.0050 points to 0.9700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.40% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.2560 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 3.17% or 0.360 points to end at 10.980 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 2.63% or 0.011 points to 0.408.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.18% or 0.61 to $52.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.99% or 0.48 to hit $49.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.65% or 20.39 to trade at $1256.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1142, while EUR/GBP rose 0.31% to 0.8606.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 97.53.
