Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.90% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.02% or 0.087 points to trade at 8.623 at the close. Meanwhile, Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 0.87% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.2310 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.412 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae (LS:YSO), which fell 3.04% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.8300 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 2.16% or 0.0600 points to end at 2.7200 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.92% or 0.0790 points to 4.0280.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 0.412.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.61% or 0.34 to $55.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.98% or 0.52 to hit $52.70 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.86% or 10.35 to trade at $1215.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0723, while EUR/GBP fell 0.61% to 0.8598.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 100.36.
