Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.81% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.03% or 0.1350 points to trade at 13.2150 at the close. Meanwhile, Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 0.91% or 0.029 points to end at 3.200 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 0.90% or 0.130 points to 14.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which fell 2.37% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.9050 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.15% or 0.3800 points to end at 17.3200 and REN (LS:RENE) was down 1.98% or 0.0560 points to 2.7780.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.74% or 0.80 to $46.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.71% or 0.74 to hit $44.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.04 to trade at $1247.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1311, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8847.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.78% at 96.35.
