Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.59% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.2280 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.84% or 0.1200 points to end at 14.3250 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.53% or 0.0056 points to 1.0680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which fell 2.23% or 0.1260 points to trade at 5.5120 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.93% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.8650 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 1.07% or 0.0310 points to 2.8600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 15 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.84% or 0.1200 to 14.3250.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.09% or 0.05 to $56.51 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $53.28 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.53% or 17.85 to trade at $1183.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.03% to 1.0596, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.00% at 101.47.
