Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.89% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.7530 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 0.21% or 0.0300 points to end at 14.1900 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.05% or 0.0030 points to 5.6180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.37% or 0.0253 points to trade at 1.0400 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.90% or 0.1200 points to end at 13.2250 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 0.70% or 0.0270 points to 3.8540.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) fell to all time lows; losing 2.37% or 0.0253 to 1.0400.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.21% or 0.12 to $56.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $54.07 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1139.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.0380, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 103.51.
