Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI 20 down 0.11%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 3.23% or 0.0830 points to trade at 2.6520 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.89% or 0.1120 points to end at 6.0420 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.56% or 0.0440 points to 2.8670 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 6.37% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.1470 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 2.53% or 0.2750 points to end at 10.6100 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was down 2.22% or 0.0080 points to 0.3520.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 23 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) fell to all time lows; falling 6.37% or 0.0100 to 0.1470. Shares in Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.22% or 0.0080 to 0.3520.

Brent oil for May delivery was down 2.68% or 1.10 to $39.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.65% or 0.63 to hit $37.66 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 1.26% or 15.90 to trade at $1273.30 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 1.94% to 1.1213, while EUR/GBP rose 1.19% to 0.7844.

The US Dollar Index was down 1.26% at 95.97.
