Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.71% or 0.0300 points to trade at 0.3390 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 2.91% or 0.0780 points to end at 2.7630 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 2.57% or 0.228 points to 9.096 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 7.01% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1460 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 6.58% or 0.0740 points to end at 1.0500 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 1.50% or 0.0520 points to 3.4100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.71% or 0.0300 to 0.3390.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.49% or 0.27 to $55.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.52% or 0.27 to hit $52.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 8.05 to trade at $1244.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0699, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 100.14.
