At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.59% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 3.64% or 0.0580 points to trade at 1.6520 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) added 2.10% or 0.0720 points to end at 3.4960 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 1.76% or 0.0140 points to 0.8095 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP (LS:EDP), which fell 2.51% or 0.0760 points to trade at 2.9510 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.88% or 0.2650 points to end at 13.8050 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 1.60% or 0.0038 points to 0.2334.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.88% or 0.2650 to 13.8050.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.62% or 2.16 to $57.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.76% or 2.39 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1253.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1365, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8988.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.502.
