Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 2.76% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 10.10% or 0.6330 points to trade at 6.9000 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 4.16% or 0.1220 points to end at 3.0550 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.88% or 0.0052 points to 0.1856 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which fell 2.10% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.420 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.19% or 0.036 points to end at 2.981 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was down 0.53% or 0.0020 points to 0.3780.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.55% or 0.79 to $51.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.82% or 0.87 to hit $48.60 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.0841, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8678.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 99.22.
