Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 5.17% or 0.0565 points to trade at 1.1495 at the close. Meanwhile, Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.54% or 0.1390 points to end at 5.6050 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 2.17% or 0.0690 points to 3.2500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which fell 1.44% or 0.2150 points to trade at 14.7600 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.23% or 0.0300 points to end at 12.9500 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was down 0.23% or 0.001 points to 0.428.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 23 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) fell to all time lows; falling 0.23% or 0.001 to 0.428.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 1.87% or 1.01 to $55.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.55% or 0.79 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.94% or 10.65 to trade at $1140.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.0460, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.45% at 102.69.
