Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 15.69% or 0.0217 points to trade at 0.1600 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 2.96% or 0.0820 points to end at 2.8510 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.33% or 0.0110 points to 0.8370 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 1.60% or 0.138 points to trade at 8.465 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.56% or 0.0630 points to end at 3.9700 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 1.31% or 0.1700 points to 12.7600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 15 and 11 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.09% or 0.05 to $55.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.73% or 0.38 to hit $52.75 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.41% or 16.85 to trade at $1213.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.97% to 1.0704, while EUR/GBP fell 1.70% to 0.8651.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.10% at 100.41.
