Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.77% or 0.1260 points to trade at 2.3090 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.22% or 0.0620 points to end at 5.1500 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.90% or 0.0460 points to 5.1610 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 6.61% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.3390 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 1.92% or 0.008 points to end at 0.409 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was down 1.50% or 0.0130 points to 0.8560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.77% or 0.1260 to 2.3090.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 0.68% or 0.38 to $55.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.26 to hit $53.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.15 to trade at $1276.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0604, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8486.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.62.
