Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.37% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 2.80% or 0.10 points to trade at 3.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 2.64% or 0.08 points to end at 2.91 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 2.34% or 0.08 points to 3.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which fell 0.27% or 0.01 points to trade at 3.67 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 0.09% or 0.02 points to end at 21.22 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was up 0.27% or 0.02 points to 7.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 4 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.64% or 0.08 to 2.91.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 2.02% or 1.31 to $63.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.14% or 1.33 to hit $60.72 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 22.99 to trade at $3,324.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 98.90.
