Stock market today: S&P 500 in weekly loss as trade war fears intensifyy
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.61% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 3.29% or 0.22 points to trade at 6.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 2.87% or 0.08 points to end at 2.87 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 2.07% or 0.44 points to 21.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which fell 1.32% or 0.12 points to trade at 8.98 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) declined 1.26% or 0.01 points to end at 0.62 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was down 1.21% or 0.22 points to 17.98.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 10.
Brent oil for July delivery was up 1.38% or 0.89 to $65.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.56% or 0.96 to hit $62.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.28% or 41.15 to trade at $3,185.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.41% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 101.07.
