Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which rose 2.19% or 0.07 points to trade at 3.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) added 1.02% or 0.17 points to end at 16.35 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 0.84% or 0.12 points to 14.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS), which fell 0.52% or 0.04 points to trade at 7.60 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) unchanged 0.45% or 0.00 points to end at 0.89 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 0.38% or 0.03 points to 7.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 0.38% or 0.03 to 7.92.
Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.97% or 1.57 to $81.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.34% or 1.77 to hit $77.52 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.23% or 33.39 to trade at $2,681.61 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 109.74.
