Nvidia becomes first company to reach $4 trillion market cap amid AI boom
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 1.75% or 0.28 points to trade at 16.00 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 1.36% or 0.13 points to end at 9.69 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.02% or 0.04 points to 3.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which fell 4.48% or 0.17 points to trade at 3.62 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) declined 1.63% or 0.01 points to end at 0.64 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was down 0.85% or 0.18 points to 21.02.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for August delivery was up 2.05% or 1.57 to $78.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.05% or 1.51 to hit $75.01 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 23.48 to trade at $3,384.62 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 98.66.
