Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 2.16%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.38% or 0.0220 points to trade at 0.2340 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 4.27% or 0.0125 points to end at 0.3050 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 3.97% or 0.1450 points to 3.8000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which fell 2.84% or 0.0980 points to trade at 3.3500 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.36% or 0.040 points to end at 2.910 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was down 0.98% or 0.100 points to 10.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 9 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 2.24% or 1.50 to $65.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.95% or 1.87 to hit $61.52 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.83% or 11.00 to trade at $1318.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.96% to 1.2257, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8842.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.82% at 90.25.
