Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.53% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 3.24% or 0.2200 points to trade at 7.0100 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.88% or 0.3400 points to end at 18.4000 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.79% or 0.0660 points to 3.7620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which fell 1.59% or 0.050 points to trade at 3.100 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 0.55% or 0.060 points to end at 10.760 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.53% or 0.0160 points to 2.9780.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; rising 1.88% or 0.3400 to 18.4000.
Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $67.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $61.48 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.70 to trade at $1318.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 92.05.
