Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.67% or 0.2950 points to trade at 17.9150 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.45% or 0.0440 points to end at 3.0820 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.17% or 0.0115 points to 0.9925 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LS:SEM), which fell 0.97% or 0.2000 points to trade at 20.4000 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 0.88% or 0.0250 points to end at 2.8200 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 0.60% or 0.0210 points to 3.4940.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.67% or 0.2950 to 17.9150.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.94% or 0.69 to $74.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $69.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1219.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1592, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8950.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 95.00.
