Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 1.92% or 0.0940 points to trade at 4.9980 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.95% or 0.1700 points to end at 8.8800 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.13% or 0.0340 points to 3.0380 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which fell 2.45% or 0.240 points to trade at 9.540 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.42% or 0.0150 points to end at 3.5150 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was down 0.80% or 0.0021 points to 0.2596.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 17 to 14 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.38% or 1.01 to $74.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.84% or 1.26 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.44% or 5.40 to trade at $1217.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.04% to 1.1563, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 95.15.
