Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.45% or 0.0037 points to trade at 0.1547 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.64% or 0.2650 points to end at 16.4050 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.40% or 0.0870 points to 6.3100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 8.85% or 0.0340 points to trade at 0.3500 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.69% or 0.0860 points to end at 5.0110 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 0.49% or 0.0210 points to 4.2660.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 17 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.64% or 0.2650 to 16.4050.
Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.56% or 0.31 to $56.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.37% or 0.20 to hit $53.98 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.45 to trade at $1238.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.0615, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8518.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.88.
