Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.31% or 0.1040 points to trade at 2.0640 at the close. Meanwhile, Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 3.06% or 0.095 points to end at 3.195 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 2.10% or 0.3000 points to 14.6100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.30% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.3520 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 0.40% or 0.0170 points to end at 4.1900 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 0.11% or 0.0040 points to 3.7830.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.31% or 0.1040 to 2.0640. Shares in Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.06% or 0.095 to 3.195. Shares in Semapa (LS:SEM) rose to all time highs; rising 2.10% or 0.3000 to 14.6100.
Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.44% or 0.24 to $54.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.31% or 0.16 to hit $51.19 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 9.85 to trade at $1248.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0650, while EUR/GBP fell 0.44% to 0.8539.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 100.60.
