Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 2.22% or 0.22 points to trade at 10.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 2.12% or 0.15 points to end at 7.21 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 1.70% or 0.060 points to 3.590 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which fell 2.68% or 2.25 points to trade at 81.74 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 2.19% or 0.99 points to end at 44.17 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 2.13% or 1.18 points to 54.15.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 275 to 232 and 179 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.70% or 0.060 to 3.590.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 3.92% or 1.82 to $44.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 3.86% or 1.88 to hit $46.84 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 9.48 to trade at $1278.08 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.01% to 4.1928, while USD/PLN fell 0.61% to 3.7169.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 96.43.
