Poland stocks higher at close of trade; WIG30 up 0.43%

Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 3.45% or 1.34 points to trade at 40.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 3.30% or 0.77 points to end at 24.08 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 2.19% or 0.68 points to 31.69 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which fell 5.35% or 20.90 points to trade at 370.00 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.73% or 146.00 points to end at 5205.00 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 2.37% or 1.69 points to 69.51.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 285 to 282 and 164 ended unchanged.

Shares in Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.19% or 0.68 to 31.69.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.13% or 0.61 to $53.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.46% or 0.83 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.82% or 10.05 to trade at $1230.85 a troy ounce.

EUR/PLN was down 0.17% to 4.2951, while USD/PLN rose 0.31% to 4.0017.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 100.07.
