Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Services, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.27%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 2.18% or 3.30 points to trade at 154.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) added 0.98% or 0.040 points to end at 4.140 and SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) was up 0.68% or 5.00 points to 745.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which fell 2.64% or 33.00 points to trade at 1215.00 at the close. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 2.25% or 46.00 points to end at 2000.00 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) was down 1.48% or 0.240 points to 16.020.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 98 to 92 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in SM Investments Corp (PS:SM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.68% or 5.00 to 745.00.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.21% or 2.65 to $1254.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.76% or 0.36 to hit $48.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.46 to trade at $50.92 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.03% to 7.2559, while USD/PHP rose 0.01% to 49.998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 98.93.
