Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Services, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 1.95% or 0.080 points to trade at 4.180 at the close. Meanwhile, GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) added 1.74% or 21.00 points to end at 1229.00 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 1.30% or 22.00 points to 1720.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which fell 1.68% or 0.150 points to trade at 8.800 at the close. Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) declined 1.58% or 3.40 points to end at 212.00 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) was down 1.41% or 0.180 points to 12.600.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 108 to 83 and 54 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.26% or 16.19 to $1272.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.79% or 0.39 to hit $50.01 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.42 to trade at $52.86 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.12% to 7.2307, while USD/PHP fell 0.14% to 49.775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.72% at 98.94.
