Peru stocks lower at close of trade; S&P Lima General down 1.21%

Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Industrials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 1.21% to hit a new 3-years low.

The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 11.11% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.080 at the close. Meanwhile, Minsur (LM:MINi) added 1.14% or 0.010 points to end at 0.890 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 0.65% or 0.020 points to 3.100 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 11.11% or 0.060 points to trade at 0.480 at the close. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 7.57% or 1.340 points to end at 16.360 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was down 5.73% or 0.110 points to 1.810.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 23 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) fell to all time lows; falling 11.11% or 0.060 to 0.480. Shares in Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) fell to 3-years lows; down 7.57% or 1.340 to 16.360.

Crude oil for October delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $40.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.97% or 1.94 to hit $46.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1133.60 a troy ounce.

USD/PEN was up 0.30% to 3.2544, while EUR/PEN rose 0.08% to 3.5923.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 96.44.
