Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 6.41% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.249 at the close. Meanwhile, Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 1.10% or 0.010 points to end at 0.920 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 0.24% or 0.010 points to 4.120 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which fell 15.00% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.153 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 3.96% or 0.130 points to end at 3.150 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) was down 2.78% or 0.040 points to 1.400.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 5 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) fell to 52-week lows; down 15.00% or 0.027 to 0.153.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.63% or 0.32 to $51.40 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.57% or 0.31 to hit $54.23 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.62% or 7.55 to trade at $1204.55 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.90% to 3.3170, while EUR/PEN fell 0.68% to 3.5504.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 101.11.
