Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Non-Metal Minerals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 1.59%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 10.52% or 1.220 points to trade at 12.820 at the close. Meanwhile, Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 5.88% or 0.050 points to end at 0.900 and Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) was up 4.69% or 0.300 points to 6.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG), which fell 11.81% or 0.170 points to trade at 1.270 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 5.16% or 0.080 points to end at 1.470 and Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) was down 1.26% or 0.070 points to 5.500.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.16% or 0.080 to 1.470.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 2.64% or 1.26 to $48.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.27% or 0.14 to hit $52.13 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.41% or 16.90 to trade at $1219.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.09% to 3.2565, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.4756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.24% at 100.36.
