Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Food & Beverages and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.02% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 3.30% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.940 at the close. Meanwhile, Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 3.28% or 0.100 points to end at 3.150 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) was up 2.88% or 0.030 points to 1.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sider (LM:SID), which fell 5.96% or 0.022 points to trade at 0.347 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 3.58% or 0.260 points to end at 7.010 and Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) was down 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.590.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 17 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.30% or 0.030 to 0.940. Shares in Trevali Mining (LM:TV) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.88% or 0.030 to 1.070.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.76% or 0.95 to $52.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.96% or 1.11 to hit $55.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 9.55 to trade at $1226.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.20% to 3.2605, while EUR/PEN fell 0.02% to 3.4621.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 100.99.
