Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Energy and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX lost 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY), which rose 2.55% or 1.23 points to trade at 49.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) added 1.32% or 0.61 points to end at 44.12 and Schibsted ASA B (OL:SBSTB) was up 1.25% or 2.50 points to 202.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG), which fell 2.17% or 3.30 points to trade at 150.00 at the close. Yara International ASA (OL:YAR) declined 2.09% or 7.5 points to end at 352.2 and Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP) was down 1.25% or 2.00 points to 158.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 99 to 86 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.55% or 1.23 to 49.53.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.24% or 1.18 to $53.93 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 2.43% or 1.34 to hit $56.42 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.99% or 11.80 to trade at $1186.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.11% to 8.9237, while USD/NOK rose 0.64% to 8.3643.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.72% at 100.63.
