Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transport, Materials and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.83% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC), which rose 5.38% or 0.08 points to trade at 1.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) added 3.72% or 1.61 points to end at 44.89 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 2.43% or 0.70 points to 29.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DNO International ASA (OL:DNO), which fell 2.02% or 0.19 points to trade at 8.97 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 1.71% or 0.5 points to end at 27.1 and Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) was down 0.38% or 0.5 points to 131.8.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 102 to 72 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Norsk Hydro ASA (OL:NHY) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.72% or 1.61 to 44.89.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.65% or 0.33 to $51.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.61% or 0.33 to hit $54.25 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.08% or 13.05 to trade at $1199.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.29% to 9.0033, while USD/NOK fell 0.23% to 8.4738.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 101.45.
