Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Food, Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which rose 4.87% or 1.74 points to trade at 37.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 4.30% or 0.040 points to end at 0.970 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was up 2.40% or 3.50 points to 149.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT), which fell 5.00% or 1.79 points to trade at 34.01 at the close. Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) declined 2.82% or 0.55 points to end at 18.95 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was down 2.80% or 0.75 points to 26.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 31 to 19 and 47 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.50% or 1.24 to $48.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.47% or 1.29 to hit $50.95 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 9.65 to trade at $1271.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 2.49% to 352.920, while USD/NGN fell 0.15% to 325.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 96.93.
