Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Food, Beverages & Tobacco, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 gained 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which rose 10.25% or 58.42 points to trade at 628.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) added 5.00% or 0.150 points to end at 3.150 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) was up 3.24% or 0.45 points to 14.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dangote Flour Mills PLC (LAGOS:DANGFLOUR), which fell 1.35% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.65 at the close. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 0.40% or 0.10 points to end at 24.73 and Nig Brew (LAGOS:NB) was down 0.08% or 0.10 points to 127.12.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos by 16 to 8 and 54 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.01% or 0.53 to $53.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.93% or 0.51 to hit $55.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 7.55 to trade at $1225.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was unchanged 0.00% to 331.720, while USD/NGN fell 0.16% to 318.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.90.
