Investing.com - Officials in the Trump administration have discussed proposing a limited trade deal to China, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing sources. But a senior White House official later told CNBC the administration is "absolutely not" considering such a move.

  • A limited deal could delay or roll back some U.S. tariffs in return for Chinese promises on intellectual property and agriculture purchases, Bloomberg reported.

  • The plan was discussed by some of President Donald Trump’s top trade advisers ahead of trade talks in Washington in the coming weeks, the report said.
    • The S&P 500 was up about 0.2% following the CNBC report of the denial, down from up 0.55% right after the Bloomberg report was published.

    Tomorrow things will be different.
crude oil go high or down reply please. thanks
The Great Deal is done by the chosen one.
Trump is the worst president. He is just a professional landlord and knows nothing about economics. Adam Smith would be laughing at us for encouraging tariffs. In no time in history for any nation have tariffs worked. This is just a TV show for Trump.
chris he is the losing side he will lead america into bankruptcy just like his many many failed businesses.. you certainly must have taken courses from trump university to be in a delusion that you are winning
Yes. NAFTA was thre first thing for America in recent history. China in WTO, was a close second. The laws wer have allow bankruptcies. You must be aware of this. People should work for what they have. Many do not. I have been fortunate to receive a reasonably decent education. Many who are not still seem to have an element of pride to work for what they have. Others are simply lazy and want a pass. Which are you?
Trump is not a great person, but is a great president since Reagean. He delivered his campaign promise and fought with China of their unfair trade practice. How funny no one blames China but blame the guy who fought foe them?
The limited deal is already made. Trump has obliged. That is why China has eased tariffs on few goods. October talks ar just a drama.
Dems n House won't approve any deal that congratulates Trump.
next week or so a limited deal will be announced.
    let's hope for the best
We are doing great? China is Eating the Tariffs”?
If you're working now then yes we are. Think about what the comeez have done to us all these years. then Bush lets them into WTO... A shame
you forgot an Eddy... le on the cartoon Ed, Ed & Eddy of which you seem to bre in a class with the "3rd, Eddy" I hope you know who I mean...
We NEED a REAL DEAL -- Not capitulation
You read The art of the deal then?Scientists think they know everything to, right?
One says limited deal..other one says no such move...Its a joke in WH
Everybody has limits and limitations. Know your own ! Unless you play poker.
    I smell surrender don
    Trump lost, 1:0 for China
I've made money because of him and we have a few more judges that follow the constitution. Have you ever read that?
However, we have a president and administration who often try to ignore the Constitution. Have you ever read that?
Seriously, you need a copy of the pocket size so you know of what you speak. after all the crooks and thieves in numerous branches of government (FBI) that have been fired and some yet to go typ prison, nothing on Trump, the change in narrative for an attempt to bang this guy simply because you don't like him? A real issue when considering when a man (or woman) is factually guilty of crimes. I think we know certain laws exist and you can't name any he's broken. Right? We can however make a long list of laws which have been broken by a number of people. I've mentioned Bush and only referred to things Trump had done without mentioning his name. Do you think the one I mentioned was a good president? Guys who talk out of their hat like retrospective statements that mean nothing awd they simply "parrot" from marxist style organizations shouldn't speak. they should read. Especially history. Ex: An t i fa are similar but worse than the brown shirts were. You're probably clueless of this.
Smokes and mirrors is the new trade deal
You're a magician then? Please explain how anyone and mirrors work if you're permitted to disclose industry secrets.
Does White House still have creditability?
That is essentially what I've been predicting will happen...Trump will pull back on his demands and make a lesser deal with China, claim it as a great victory, and hope the economy holds up until the election. I think the question is just how many tariffs (if any) will be left in place after such a deal.
So i'm sure you've predicted how much you'll make on your investments since you head predicted this. We should do well as I too made such an assumption.
China has no honor, will not agree to stopping IP theft.
Agreed. Bush should never have voted them into WTO -One of tje worst things he ever did...
    just to get reelected.
    This...is...getting...very...very...old.
