New York City lawmakers cap Grubhub, other third-party delivery fees

(Reuters) - The New York City Council on Wednesday passed emergency legislation capping fees charged to restaurants by third-party delivery services including Grubhub Inc (N:GRUB) and Uber Technologies Inc 's (N:UBER) Uber Eats.

The new rules are aimed at helping reduce costs for independent restaurants struggling to stay in business during the coronavirus pandemic.
