Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were OCI (AMS:OCI), which rose 3.60% or 1.090 points to trade at 31.395 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AMS:NN) added 1.85% or 0.52 points to end at 28.30 and Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) was up 0.73% or 0.30 points to 42.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which fell 3.14% or 3.80 points to trade at 117.15 at the close. Relx NV (AMS:RELX) declined 2.22% or 0.340 points to end at 14.965 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was down 2.15% or 1.96 points to 89.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 126 to 91 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in NN Group (AMS:NN) rose to all time highs; rising 1.85% or 0.52 to 28.30. Shares in Unilever NV (AMS:UNc) rose to all time highs; rising 0.73% or 0.30 to 42.31.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.05% to 16.51.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.99% or 0.90 to $44.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.26% or 0.62 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 6.00 to trade at $1091.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.0932, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.7042.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 97.85.
